The storage of Isothiazolinone products needs to be controlled in terms of environment, packaging, and operation to ensure stability:
Storage environment: It should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding direct sunlight (ultraviolet rays will accelerate the decomposition of Isothiazolinone) and high temperatures (the storage temperature should be controlled between 5℃-30℃; freezing at low temperatures may cause the solution to crystallize and affect the concentration).
Packaging requirements: The original sealed packaging (e.g., HDPE plastic drums, aluminum-plastic composite bags) should be used. After each use, the packaging should be tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption, oxidation, or contamination by external impurities. Do not use iron or copper containers for storage (isothiazolinones may react with metal ions to reduce efficacy).
Safety operation: The warehouse should be equipped with emergency treatment equipment (e.g., neutralizing agents, eye washers). When moving the packaging, avoid collision or falling to prevent leakage. It should be stored separately from strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, and strong alkalis (the distance between the two should be ≥1 meter) to avoid accidental mixing and chemical reactions. The shelf life of unopened isothiazolinone products is usually 12-24 months; if the product changes color (e.g., from light yellow to dark brown) or has an abnormal odor, it should be discarded and cannot be used.
